The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially opened the application link for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 Personality Test, marking the beginning of the final stage of the prestigious recruitment process. Candidates who have successfully cleared the UPSC CSE Mains 2025 are now required to complete and carefully revise their Detailed Application Form (DAF) through the commission’s official portal, upsconline.gov.in.

According to the notification released by UPSC, the application correction and submission window will remain active from November 13 to November 27, 2025, until 6 PM. During this period, candidates must ensure that all personal information, academic details, service preferences, category certificates, and other required documents are accurately uploaded. The commission has made it clear that only those candidates who submit their DAF within the specified timeline will be eligible for the Personality Test, commonly known as the UPSC Interview.

Importance of the DAF for the Interview Stage

The DAF is a crucial component of the CSE process, serving as the primary reference document for the UPSC interview board. Details such as academic achievements, work experience, extracurricular activities, hobbies, service choices, and optional subject are thoroughly evaluated during the Personality Test. UPSC has urged candidates to review each section of the form carefully, as inaccuracies may lead to complications during verification.

The Personality Test is the final and most decisive stage of the Civil Services Examination. It assesses a candidate’s communication skills, analytical reasoning, leadership qualities, ethical judgment, and clarity of thought. Marks obtained in this stage, combined with the Mains written examination scores, determine the candidate’s final ranking and service allocation.

Upcoming Schedule and Official Updates

Once the DAF submission window closes, UPSC is expected to release the Personality Test date sheet, followed by the issuance of interview e-summons. Candidates will be required to appear in person at the UPSC office in New Delhi for the interview round.

The commission has advised aspirants to frequently monitor the official website for the latest updates regarding interview schedules, instructions, and required documents for verification.

With the Personality Test serving as the final gateway to India’s most sought-after civil services , including the IAS, IPS, and IFS, candidates are now entering the most crucial phase of the examination.
